AI Agents tab

AI Agents is the last of the seven Path Explorer tabs. It answers two questions: how many shoppers AI assistants send to your store (and whether they buy), and which AI agents visit your pages. The date range picker applies; no other filter does. On large stores, or a long date range, the tab can be slow. If it times out, try a shorter range.

AI Agents tab map: shoppers who click a link in an AI assistant become their own channel, automated agents are named in a leaderboard

Two separate groups of visits: shoppers who arrive from an AI assistant, and automated agents that load your pages.

Shoppers sent by AI assistants

Visits that came from assistants such as ChatGPT, Perplexity, Copilot and Gemini are counted as their own channel next to search and social. Four tiles summarize them:

  • AI-referred visits, with the share of all visits.
  • Orders, how many of those visits bought.
  • Revenue, with its share of linked revenue.
  • Purchase rate, next to the store average.

Below the tiles:

  • By assistant is a table with visits, share, bounce, cart rate, purchase rate, orders, revenue and revenue per visit, plus a Store average row for comparison. Rates appear once a row has at least 30 visits; counts and revenue are always shown.
  • AI-referred visits per week shows the trend (weeks start on Monday).
  • Where AI-referred shoppers land lists the pages these visitors enter on, with how many added to cart and bought.
  • AI assistants next to your other channels takes AI visits out of the channel they were counted in (mostly Referral), so the rows add up to all visits. Apps that hide where a visit came from only appear here when they tag their links, as ChatGPT does.

If there are no such visits yet, the section says so and fills in as soon as a shopper clicks a link to your store in an assistant.

AI agents crawling your store

This section lists automated visits, named by the agent behind them: AI agents first, then search engines and other crawlers. None of these visits count in your shopper numbers.

Tiles show Automated visits, By AI agents and AI agents seen. The tables are:

  • AI shopping and search agents
  • Search engines and other crawlers (the top 10)
  • Unnamed automated traffic, such as look-alike browsers and visits not yet classified

Each agent row shows the operator, What it does (for example "Shopping for a person", "AI search index", "AI model training", "Search engine" or "Link preview"), visits, share, page views, pages touched, days active and last seen. Agent names are kept for the last 60 days, so this section starts on the date the tab shows.

What this list can and cannot see

  • It counts agents that load pages like a browser.
  • Many AI fetches read page text only and never run ShopGuide's tracker, so the real number of visits is higher than shown.
  • Some agents cannot be told apart from ordinary search crawlers.
  • An agent driving an ordinary browser looks like a shopper.

Reading the numbers

AI-referred shoppers are still a small group on most stores. Treat differences from the store average as observed, not as proof of cause, and do not read much into rows below 30 visits. For the bot rules behind "automated", see Exclude bots.

If the data cannot be loaded, the tab shows a message with Try again. If it says it needs a database update that has not been applied yet, ask ShopGuide support. You can also ask Path Guide questions such as "How much of my traffic comes from AI assistants, and do they buy?".
