Ecosystem Integrations

Your Shopify store operates on an ecosystem of specialized apps. Rather than forcing you into a walled garden, ShopGuide seamlessly integrates with the tools you already rely on for reviews, loyalty, email marketing, and live support.

Automatic App Detection

When you open ShopGuide → Settings → Integrations, ShopGuide suggests apps based on what it can detect on your published theme and storefront (detection is best-effort):

  • Theme Embed Detection: Looks for active app embeds installed in your Shopify theme (e.g., Klaviyo onsite scripts, Judge.me review widgets, Smile.io loyalty launchers).
  • Smart Organization: Suggested apps appear at the top under "Looks like you use these" with an On your store badge, making setup fast and effortless.

1. Customer Loyalty: Smile.io

Connecting your Smile.io loyalty program enables conversational rewards:

  • What it enables: Real-time points balance checks, VIP tier recognition, and points-redemption guidance inside the storefront chat.
  • How to configure:
    1. Generate an API token in your Smile.io Admin.
    2. In ShopGuide Settings → Integrations, locate the Smile.io card.
    3. Paste your API token and save.
  • Shopper Experience: Customers can ask "How many points do I have?" or "What do I get at Gold tier?" and receive immediate, personalized answers.

  • What it enables: The AI can answer questions about a logged-in member's balance (points or store credit), tier, rewards, membership renewal and price, and referral link.
  • How to configure: In Settings → Integrations, open the Inveterate card, paste your key into Inveterate API Key (from your Inveterate dashboard) and save.

Alia

The Alia card is an automatic poll integration that uses customer survey responses to enhance AI recommendations. It needs no configuration; it works when Alia poll popups are active on your store.

2. Product Reviews & Social Proof: Judge.me & Rivyo

Customer reviews provide the social proof that drives conversions:

  • What it enables: When a shopper asks about a product (product questions and comparisons), the AI uses your reviews. It quotes only 4- and 5-star reviews, but can state the real overall rating and review count.
  • How to configure:
    1. Copy your public API token from your Judge.me or Rivyo dashboard.
    2. Paste it into the corresponding card in ShopGuide Integrations.
  • Shopper Experience: When a visitor asks "Which moisturizer is best for sensitive skin?", the AI highlights the product with the highest verified rating and quotes real customer feedback.

3. Email & SMS Marketing: Klaviyo

ShopGuide turns storefront conversations into high-converting lifecycle marketing:

  • What it enables:
    • Storefront newsletter signup through the chat, with an optional reward label (the AI checks first whether the email is already subscribed).
    • Recognising shoppers who click your own Klaviyo emails (needs Profiles: Read on your key).
    • Adding Customer Segments to a Klaviyo list with Sync to Klaviyo or, for cart abandoners, Add to win-back list. It asks first, works in batches of 500 and sends no email.
    • Cart recovery emails through the ShopGuide Cart Abandoned event are not switched on yet; ask ShopGuide.
    • Custom events such as ShopGuide NPS Submitted, and ShopGuide Order Attributed for stores where customer enrichment is enabled.
    • Behavioral profile enrichment (personas, archetypes, dietary tags) is not available to all merchants; see the guide below.
  • Read the full guide: Klaviyo Customer Intelligence.

4. Live Human Handoff: Slack & WhatsApp

The assistant can hand a conversation to your team from any topic, not only support questions. It always asks for the shopper's own email first, and it only says a message has been passed on when it has. It reads text only, so it never asks shoppers for a photo or file; for something like damaged goods it offers the handoff instead.

Handoffs go to the Support Email in Settings → Essentials (the settings page warns you when it is empty), and to Slack or WhatsApp if you set them up:

  • Slack Alerts:
    • Send an alert to a designated Slack channel when the AI cannot resolve a request and escalates.
    • Includes the customer's message and email, the urgency, and a link to the full chat transcript. You can also write a custom Slack message template.
  • WhatsApp Business:
    • Set WhatsApp as your support channel under Settings → Essentials → Support Channel (number in international format). When the AI cannot answer, it shows a WhatsApp button with the customer's question pre-filled. The toggle Offer WhatsApp when the AI cannot answer controls this.

5. Shopify Knowledge Base

If your store uses Shopify's own Knowledge Base app, the chat reads its published FAQs automatically, with no setup (changes can take up to about 10 minutes to appear). The Shopify Knowledge Base card on the Train page keeps three layers apart:

  • Your FAQs: the custom FAQs you have. Use Add FAQ to write one, and edit or delete your own. Changes go live immediately. A knowledge gap offers Answer in Knowledge Base, which saves the FAQ and marks the gap resolved.
  • Shopify's profile of your store: what Shopify wrote after reading your storefront. These do not appear in Shopify's Knowledge Base app. The chat uses them as written; use Edit to correct anything that is wrong. There is no Approve step. Other store facts count once you have confirmed them with Edit.
  • From your Shopify settings: Shopify's default answers, built from your store settings. Change them in Shopify.

The Brand profile is part of Shopify's profile. You can also open it under Settings → Essentials → Brand profile, where each entry is marked Written by Shopify or Confirmed by you. The chat reads it on every reply to match your store's voice. It is not the same as the logo, colors and slogan under Shopify's own brand settings.

6. Shopify Sidekick

ShopGuide is built from the ground up to integrate with Shopify's native ecosystem. With 19 native Sidekick app tools, merchants can query chat metrics, funnels, knowledge gaps, shopper segments, product interest, repeat purchases, journeys and drop-off pages directly from Shopify Sidekick.
